Abstract:
To study the functional characteristics of a network, the hypergraph model is more effective than the standard graph representation. M-polynomial is the most commonly used tool in theoretical chemistry to calculate accurate expressions for various degree-based topological indices. This study establishes the concept of M-polynomials for hypergraphs and derives the corresponding formulae for the topological indices as required. Furthermore, this study presents the linkages between hypergraph topological indices and the functions of the brain. Here, hypergraph topological indices are derived from a parameter that quantifies the number of multifunctioning regions involved in one function, thereby capturing the correlation between different functions.
